  21. If installing from a hard disk, using a "bco.zip" file downloaded from 
  22. an on-line source such as CompuServe or a bulliten board...
  23.  
  24.    1. Uncompress the downloaded file using pkunzip.exe. (If you're
  25.       reading this, then presumeably you've already done this step.)
  26.  
  27.    2. Move (if neccesary) the downloaded, uncompressed, files to a 
  28.       directory OTHER than the directory where you want the program
  29.       to be installed.  
  30.    
  31.    3. In Program Manager, open then directory where the uncompressed
  32.       downloaded files reside.  Select the File/Run command and enter
  33.       "setup.exe", OR double click on the file, "setup.exe".

  36. If installing from a floppy disk: from Program Manager select
  37. the File/Run command.  Enter z:\setup.exe where z is the driver
  38. letter of the floppy drive (a or b).

  48. Note that BC/Outline is a shareware program.  As such, you may use it on a trial
  49. basis for thirty days.  After this time, the program must be registered 
  50. if it is continued to be used.  The cost is $19.  For a disk with the
  51. latest version add an extra $2 shipping.

  65. out orderfrm.txt for an order form.  After registering you will receive a
  66. letter giving you your registration code to eliminate the registration 
  67. reminder screen.

  72. will recieve a Compuserve Email giving you your registration code to

  86. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  87.  
  88. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  89. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  90. using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
  91. differ on details -- some request registration while others
  92. require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  93. registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue
  94. using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  96. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
  97. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  98. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  99. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
  100. of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
  101. and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  102. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  103. and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
  104. specific group. For example, some authors require written
  105. permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  106. Shareware.

  108. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
  109. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  110. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  111. fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
  112. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
  113. has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
  114. product, you don't pay for it.

  118. Users of BC/Outline must accept this disclaimer of warranty:
  119. "BC/Outline is supplied as is.  The author disclaims all
  120. warranties, expressed or implied, including, without limitation,
  121. the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose.
  122. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or conse-
  123. quential, which may result from the use of BC/Outline."

  125. BC/Outline is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  126. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  127. friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of
  128. another system.  The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  129. provide personal computer users with quality software without
  130. high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
  131. continue to develop new products.  If you find this program
  132. useful and find that you are using BC/Outline and continue to use
  133. BC/Outline after a reasonable trial period, you must make a reg-
  134. istration payment of $19 to DiamondLine Software.  The $19
  135. registration fee will license one copy for use on any one
  136. computer at any one time.  You must treat this software just like
  137. a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any
  138. number of people and may be freely moved from one computer
  139. location to another, so long as there is no possibility of it
  140. being used at one location while it's being used at another.
  141. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at the
  142. same time.

  144. Commercial users of BC/Outline must register and pay for their
  145. copies of BC/Outline within 30 days of first use or their license
  146. is withdrawn.  Site-License arrangements may be made by con-
  147. tacting DiamondLine Software.

  149. Anyone distributing BC/Outline for any kind of remuneration must
  150. first contact DiamondLine Software at the address below for authorization.
  151. This authorization will be automatically granted to distributors
  152. recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for
  153. shareware distributors, and such distributors may begin offering
  154. BC/Outline immediately (However DiamondLine Software must still be advised so
  155. that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest
  156. version of BC/Outline.).

  158. You are encouraged to pass a copy of BC/Outline along to your
  159. friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their
  160. copy if they find that they can use it.  All registered users
  161. will receive a copy of the latest version of the BC/Outline
